Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and MealMaxer (“we”, “us”, or “our”) governing your access to and use of mealmaxer.com and all related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA/UK) to use MealMaxer. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

2. Account registration

To access most features, you must create an account using a valid email address or a supported third-party authentication provider (e.g. Google). You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.
  • Keep your account credentials confidential and not share them with others.
  • Notify us promptly at hello@mealmaxer.com if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information or that are used in violation of these Terms.

3. Description of the Service

MealMaxer is a recipe creation and kitchen planning application. The Service includes:

  • AI-assisted recipe generation, refinement, and versioning.
  • Recipe storage, organisation, and a personal cookbook.
  • Taste profile and cooking preference personalisation.
  • Weekly meal planning tools.
  • A live cooking mode and grocery planning workflow.
  • Recipe import from pasted text.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for material changes that reduce core functionality available on a paid plan.

4. Plans, pricing, and billing

Free plan

MealMaxer offers a free tier with limited monthly AI usage and access to core features. Free accounts may be subject to usage caps on AI-assisted recipe generation and other resource-intensive features. Limits may change with reasonable notice.

Paid plans

Paid plans (e.g. MealMaxer Pro at $49.99/year) unlock higher usage limits and additional features as described at the time of purchase. Prices are listed in US dollars and are subject to change. We will notify existing subscribers at least 30 days before any price increase takes effect.

Billing and renewal

Paid plans are billed in advance on an annual basis. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You authorise us to charge your payment method on file for each renewal.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will retain access to paid features until then.

Refunds

We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days of the charge and we will investigate.

Taxes

Prices exclude applicable taxes. Where required by law, we will add sales tax, VAT, or similar taxes to your invoice. You are responsible for any taxes applicable to your purchase.

5. Your content

Ownership

Recipes, notes, labels, meal plans, and other content you create in MealMaxer remain yours. We do not claim ownership of your content.

Licence grant

By storing content on MealMaxer, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, display, and transmit your content solely as necessary to operate and provide the Service to you. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for the content you create and store. You represent that you have all necessary rights to that content and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.

6. AI-generated content

MealMaxer uses third-party AI language models to generate recipe suggestions. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI-generated recipes are suggestions only. They may contain errors, inaccuracies, or unsuitable ingredient combinations.
  • You must always exercise your own judgement before following or serving any AI-generated recipe — particularly regarding food allergies, dietary restrictions, and medical conditions.
  • MealMaxer is not liable for any harm, illness, injury, or loss arising from following AI-generated recipes.
  • AI outputs are not guaranteed to be original. You should not assume that a generated recipe is free from similarity to existing published recipes.
  • The availability of AI features depends on third-party model providers and may be subject to interruptions outside our control.

7. Acceptable use

You agree to use MealMaxer only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security feature, usage limit, rate limit, or access control.
  • Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or scripts to access or interact with the Service without our prior written consent.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of any part of the Service.
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or any other harmful or disruptive code.
  • Attempt to overload, flood, or otherwise disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Use the Service to store or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes any third-party intellectual property rights.
  • Resell, sublicence, or otherwise commercialise access to the Service without our express written consent.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any violation of this section, without notice and without refund.

8. Our intellectual property

The MealMaxer name, logo, website design, software, AI prompting systems, and all related intellectual property are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right, title, or interest in our intellectual property.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers including Supabase (database and authentication), OpenRouter (AI model routing), and Vercel (hosting). Your use of the Service is also subject to these providers’ terms of service. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party service providers.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or resources. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content, products, or services of any third-party sites. Access to any third-party site is at your own risk.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or continuously available.
  • AI-generated recipes will be accurate, complete, safe, or suitable for your needs.
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations.
  • Any defects in the Service will be corrected within a specific time frame.

MealMaxer is a recipe development tool, not a medical or nutritional advisory service. Nothing in the Service constitutes professional dietary, nutritional, or medical advice. Always consult qualified professionals for guidance on dietary restrictions, food allergies, or health-related cooking requirements.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MEALMAXER, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES — ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH:

  • Your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service.
  • Any content obtained from the Service, including AI-generated recipes.
  • Unauthorised access to or alteration of your content or transmissions.
  • Any other matter relating to the Service.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) US $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MealMaxer and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your content; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.

14. Termination

By you: You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time via account settings or by contacting us. Deletion removes your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or abusive behaviour, or posed a risk to other users or the Service. For paid accounts terminated by us without cause, we will provide a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of your billing period.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 8, 11, 12, 13, 15, and 16) will survive.

15. Modifications to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and notify you by email or via an in-app notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect (or longer where required by law). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service before the effective date.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, nothing in these Terms affects your rights under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.

Before initiating any formal dispute, we encourage you to contact us at hello@mealmaxer.com to resolve the matter informally. Most issues can be resolved quickly this way.

17. General provisions

Entire agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and MealMaxer regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements, representations, or understandings.

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

No waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may freely assign our rights and obligations, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Force majeure: We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including internet outages, third-party service failures, or acts of God.
